ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, that the Oxfordshire County Council
TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF AND WAITING ON THE HIGHWAY BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES
LOCATION: Chipping Norton, B4026
REASON: To facilitate surface dressing works
DURATION: Starting on 13 May 2025. The anticipated completion date is 17 May 2025 (date included) 04:00 to 18:00 hours
(Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days.)
ACCESS: Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works.
The “No Waiting” restriction means that wherever there are in place yellow “No Waiting” cones, you will not be able to park vehicles on the highway.


SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: via A361 – Old London Road and vice versa

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Chadlington-Chipping Norton Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
Date of Order: 16 December 2024
Coming into force: 20 January 2025


This Order is being introduced because of footway reconstruction and carriageway works which are anticipated to be completed on 14 February 2025.This is a 24 hour closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the section of Chipping Norton Road between the A361 and the Chadlington playground.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for police, fire and ambulance services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via the locally signed diversion route.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
